Med 2 Refund

I had some dental work carried out last year and got a Med 2 form from my dentist to get a tax refund.
I had some difficulty using the online system, so called into the revenue office for some help, which they did, on the same online system
There were a couple of details missing from my application(spouses details), but after that it went through quickly.
I was told to wait for my revised P21 form to come in the post and this would give me the details of any refund and any money owing would be lodged in my bank account.
So, it arrived today and I cannot see any details of a refund, just a "final result" Balance of €0.00
Does this mean I won't get anything back or am I reading this wrong?
I've given up on ringing the revenue as I'm continually on hold and I've no time to get into their office.

If the result is balanced at zero euros, then there's nothing due. Did you or your spouse pay tax in 2015? Have a look at page 2 for the calculations to see if they are accurate.

Yes, we both paid. We received a refund earlier this year for overpayment of USC and that's referenced on the form and that was before I applied for this refund.I have a Euro amount for Personal Tax Credit in my column of panel 4, but not in my wife's.

What kind of dental work was done? Not everything dental is allowed.

How much is your personal tax credit? It's 1650 euro per person. On page 2 are your pay and tax details accurate? Do they show paye tax paid?

If a med 2 form was completed by the dentist, it should all be allowable for tax relief purposes. If it was regular dental work, the dentist should not have completed a med2 form.

    Thanks for the replies.
I have to admit, I never paid close enough attention to our tax affairs, so maybe I'm paying for my complacency.
The amount for my personal tax credit is €3300 and there is also a PAYE Tax Credit of €1650 for both myself and my wife.
The income amounts for both are accurate, but couldn't say it the tax paid is correct
The dental work was for a bridge and came to €4300. There was other work carried out but not covered by Med 2, so only the bridge work is applied for.
Think I'll have to call into them again.

Did either of you have any social welfare income during 2015? Illness benefit or job seekers?

Do the standard rate cut off points and tax credits on the P21 match those on your and your wife's P60s?

Is there anything in Panel 4 of the P21 that says Health Expenses?
