    Hey Chaps,

I've bought cars in the past for my other half (K11 Micra, BMW E90) but I'm on the verge of buying MY first car..... ooh the excitement.
As I just passed my test this year and only have 2 years as a named driver on her insurance I'm starting small. For some odd reason I'm really fixated on a Fiat Panda (petrol). The budget will be capped around €1600/1700 as insurance, despite my ripe old age of 38 will be about €1200.

From what I can gather they are generally pretty solid little cars but perhaps I'm wrong. Is there anything in particular to look out for with them?
