A guy from Eir called today and offered me the deal to change to Eir from current subscriber and they'll throw in 18 months free Setanta AND BT sport. Thinks its about 450 quid, no brainer, anyone else been offered this? BTW Eir is about 3 quid a month cheaper than Vodaphone. :D:P:)

just to follow up on the OP.

my parents are eir phone and broadband customers and got a call today from eir.

they did indeed offer the setanta pack free for 18 months if he they took eir tv.

what I am not sure is whether they would still get the basic eir tv package free that is priced at €15 pm as well. currently the tv is being offered on the eir website free for 12 of the 18 months.

any way they are out of contract and they are being offered unlimited broadband and talk anytime for €52 pm for 6 months and €72 pm for 12 months, which I think is expensive.

    will shop around

They said my offer is only for a "select few customers" that probably means about a thousand plus customers. Still with Sky and no effort to change that from EIR, just wanted to us to change BB provider, we weren't under contract to Vodaphone so maybe they new that.

received a call from Eir also. The setanta is activated on sky so you need to have at least a sky card for the offer . its 62 euro for off peak calls. no eir tv required but full 18 month contract. in comparision vodafone charge 45 for off peak with no mobile calls or 55 for unlimited calls to mobiles. ( cant find an off peak mobile option with vodafone).

are you saying that eir are offering free setanta pack through a sky box? why would they do that surely they want you to take eir TV! and not stay with a competitors platform.

All I am saying is the offer I received was to activate setanta(which Eir now Own) on my sky box for 18 months for free if I signed up for the 62euro off peak broadband and calls package(which does not include tv) .

just following up today with eir.
you are correct the offer is free setanta pack on the sky platform.

I didn't have to give my sky card they cross referenced the billing details.

so from today my free setanta kicks in on my sky platform. I am currently on the €129 a year setanta which is due to expire in October. I will be refunded on the 31st of august for my pack pro rata from today to the end of October and there will be no auto renewal.

thanks OP, took me a while to figure it out
