What's your escape?

I got this idea from reading another post and thought it might make a good thread! Regardless of whether one has a physical or mental condition, or involved in caring for a loved one, everyone needs an escape every now and then. Little coping mechanisms can make a world of difference in giving some relief. Everyone probably has their own but it might be good to share our strategies and it might give someone else an idea that they might get something positive out of :)

For me when times are tough, my escape is pounding out a few kilometres running in the park or dipping into a really absorbing page-turner of a book.

    So, what's your escape?

It's always been the gym, when caring for my ma, the gym was the one place I could go to clear my head.
I have mollerats (don't know if this can be considered a long term illness) but again I use the gym to push myself to get back to where I was prior to an episode. Knowing that I will be sick again in x months gives me a massive drive to get fitter than before.

Mine would have to be TV.
And if I have energy cleaning. Love when I'm on a roll and in the zone for cleaning, gives me great satisfaction.

I like taking an evening every week to put a treatment in my hair and a face mask on always feel better afterwards.

Would love to be able to read but ive the concentration of a gold fish.
