VW Golf gearbox cost?

    Just wondering if anyone has a ballpark figure for replacing the gear box on an 08 petrol golf?

    I've one off a 06 passat1.6 petrol 6 speed would she fit?

    €300-€400 for a box from a scrappers, the need of a clutch aside €150 labour to fit. Very easy car to work on.

    Rebuild is about a grand, plus add a clutch kit if required.

    Just do search for make/model you may be lucky and get a deal on the parts that you need...sourcing a mechanic to do the job will depend on where you are.
