Per hour, somewhere between 300 and 400 euro.
If what you need will take a full day's work then maybe the hour cost will go down.
Only a solicitor can actually tell you.

If you ring around, you will get plenty of options. I have to say I think biko's suggestion that 300-400 is probably a bit steep for an initial consultation on an employment matter.

I would not expect to pay much or at all for such an initial consultation.

Paid 380 + VAT for a consultation with a partner in a respected mid-sized Dublin law firm. That's about an hour of work for a partner.

I've yet to find one who works for free. Most will tell you the consultation fee when you call to make an appointment.

If they don't charge they spend a lot of their day with time-wasters.

If you're going straight for a partner in a medium sized firm, yes you will pay that much but there are plenty of perfectly (or more) competent solicitors who only dream of charging €300+ an hour.

They actually didnt tell me the consultation fee when I asked. That's why I want to know so wont get shock after. I understand nothing is for free but 300-400 would be a lot in that case as I've only few questions and lots of 'what ifs' as company I work for is in massive trouble and my work situation very unsure so that's why I want to just make sure what to expect...I might go for free-one too as well as I cant afford this amount with perspective of loosing my job :(

It doesn't sound like you are looking for legal advice but need to understand your rights and what happens if a company goes out of business.

In that case you could ask some questions on the Work and Jobs forum.
