Trouble replacing seats

Heya, asking for someone who has a 2003 Hyundai Trajet. They removed a seat in the centre row (the left side if you're sitting in the car) and when trying to put it back in, the trouble started. The front two hooks snap into place reasonably well, but when the seat is moved back to position the back two don't extend the full distance that would allow the seats to be fully installed. Tried a few different things: pulling the side lever, leaving it, folding and unfolding the seat etc., but the back hooks just won't reach the area they're supposed to snap into. If anyone has any advice for me to pass on, I'd be very grateful. Thanks

Edit: Sorry, just realised this isn't the main forum, and can't delete it to post there, so if a mod move it should this not be the place for this question, I'd be grateful.

Far as I remember, you need to slide the seat back with the front hooks attached. it's spring loaded, so easy for it to get out of position when the seat is out if you pull the lever.

I have one, and those mechanisms were really tricky when I got it.
A can of white lithium grease really improved everything.
When properly lubricated you might find there's quite a bit more movement,
so a clean and grease is where I'd start.

One other thing though, and it has to be asked, but are you absolutely sure they're putting in the right seat?
The ones in the rear are not the same as the ones in the center just in case they got swapped in storage.

On mine pulling the black lever near floor level unhooks the back and allows the seat to tilt forward for rear access.
There should also be a red tape to allow access from the back in an emergency.

If you can't sort it with lubrication, post a photo, and I'll put one up from mine for comparison.

This is what we're doing, it just doesn't extend far enough... possibly something to do with the springs? Thanks for the response!

100% the right seat. You're probably right about the lubrication; it's possible the springs aren't quite doing their job. Thanks for the response, will come back to clarify! :)
