New Mercedes dealer for Sligo/ Northwest

    Surprised to see well known motor group Connollys are to open a standalone Merc. dealership in Sligo town , appears they have bought premises rather than building new which makes sense.

    The brand hasn't been in Northwest for a long time , is there a need for standalone dealership ?

    More surprising is that Connollys have an Audi dealership in Galway but haven't opened a Merc. dealership in Galway which is more in need of a dealership than Sligo ( even jaguar and Lexus have a presence there ).

    Has anyone been to Msl Ballsbridge lately ? is it just Mercedes they sell now ?
    Still believe that Mercedes not having many standalone Mercedes dealerships is one of the reasons why the brand lags behind Audi and Bmw

    Smart move by them and i would think theyll aim to do with Merc what they have done with Audi - dominate the west coast trade. MB are on a serious roll worldwide with great product and once the clowns in MDL wake up and get their sh*t together it will prove a great move by the Connollys. The two lads are good operators.

    It's the same as before. They've just a load of Merc's now parked in the VW half of the building.

    No doubt there will be alterations in the future to turn it into one whole showroom for MB.

    Things are tigering lads. First thing I'm going to do Monday morning is head into the nearest Centra for a breakfast roll with everything piled on. Then I'll don my hi-vis and head off to site to fill a few half wheelbarrows with topsoil and head home €400 richer.
