Decking

Hi all. My decking is about 6 years old, in that time I've probably power washed it once a year and used a decking oil maybe 3 times. It's not great to be honest and is very rough and the kids are constantly getting splinters if they go out barefoot, worse still I have a one year old who is crawling around and determined to get out onto the decking. It would be nice to let him do this without the worry of splinters in his hands and feet. I was at a house over the weekend and the decking was a different class, no sign of the roughness or splinters, lovely and smooth and nicely finished. Could anybody point me in the right direction please? Does it need sanding down? If so what product should I then coat it?

    Paving
    No splinters
    No maintenance except cleaning
    No slip risk
No hiding place for our furry friends
    Anything but decking !!!!

Sorry I just hate the sight of decking ever since I broke my arse on one years ago at work

Ronseal do a range of decking rescue paints. Granted they are not your usual deck stains or oils. It's paint. It's a nice range of colours but completely removed splinters and gives it's a smoother and newer look. Check them out. I'm really happy with mine.
