Just wondering have any of ye advice on an injured bull. i had a bull that got injured. His back swelled on both sides of the spine. He then couldn't bull a cow. The vet said it happened when a cow jumped on him. I then gave him 5 weeks rest until swelling went down. Let him back with cows and a week later his back swelled up again and seemed to b n alot of pain as was grinding the teeth. He is back resting again and swelling is gone down now and bull has loads of energy. One of his testes is hanging much lower that the other now thou....When I bought him he had a little dip in his back, I wonder did he previously have a back injury??? Will this bull b suitable for breeding ever again? any thought much appreciated

Did you breed him yourself or buy him in?

If he was expensive id rest him for the year and see next year. If he wasn't to bad you might be better to hang him up and replace him.

2 years ago we had 2 bulls with similar. Both sweliings appeared when they were about 6 months old. Only reason we could see was possibly fighting. Both were in different groups. 1 was the best bull born that year. Vet examined them and 1 of them improved and I have him serving my cows now. The other lad never improved and looked like a camel , we sent him to factory earlier this year. Never saw it before
