Man rang me in a bit of a panic the other night to see if I would mow a bit of hay for him. Only a massey 35x and pz mower. What should i charge an acre. Was an hour each way on the road and about 3 mowing. Few different fields maybe 5-7 acres

I think €20 to €25 a acre is the going rate about these parts, seems a bit of a trek for you so I,d go the higher rate.

Probably spent about €30 on diesel, 5 hours at 10/hour gives €50 for your time and €20 for general wear and tear..

€100 isn't bad when realistically it only cost you the diesel needed for the job unless you had a breakdown.

Depends on what kind of bloke he is. If he's the kind that'd do you a return then 80 wouldn't be offensive.

this is the way I see it. If hes a friend and it suited go handy. If you are too cheap he will be constantly asking you and probably getting you to do other ****ty jobs as well as the way he will see it is that it doesn't pay him. Charge him the going rate (€20 an acre).
