    Hello guys,

Really hoping someone can help me here.

I just sent back to Amazon the following motherboard as it was faulty:
    Asus P9X79 Motherboard Socket 2011, Intel X79, DDR3, ATX

They can't do an exchange as they don't have them anymore so I was looking at the ASUS Z170 but I'm getting really confused reading the questions asked on Amazon about compatible components etc.

I have the following CPU and Memory from when I bought the P9X79 over a year ago.
Mem: HyperX Beast Series 16 GB 2400 MHz DDR3 CL11 DIMM
    CPU: Intel Core i7 4820K Quad Core processor(3.70GHz, LGA2011 socket, 10MB, 130W, Hyper-Threading Technology).

Will the ASUS Z170 work or can someone suggest a replacement.

Some gaming for my son, Win 7 for now, SQL server and MS virtual PC for testing etc.

    Thanks in advance,
    T

You should send it to asus for repair as it it is within the 3 year warranty period.
Fill in their online rma form and they will send you shipping instructions

The irish support centre is here if you need more information

    Thanks a lot guys.

Amazon had already taken back the board for a full refund but they don't sell them anymore.

Just ordered the Asus ROG ... and compatible CPU and memory.

Amazing the Core i7 won't fit newer boards. I guess more pins etc.

Anyway have placed an ad on Adverts for the CPU and memory. Am I allowed to place an ad on Boards?
