Rathsallagh Golf Club re-opens today - what a day for it - and the green fee is €16... should you feel inclined.

I've put 13 photos up on my blog (taken on Sunday) if you want to see how good the place is looking.

Played Rathsallagh today for the first time in a few tears. Still a cracking course in good condition with lots of great holes and well worth a visit. Greens had just been cut and were as good as you will find anywhere. Ground was a bit soft with placing in operation but still came back with the same ball. You need to keep an eye where your ball goes if off the fairway. No food available other than sandwiches today. Good to see it back in operation and well worth supporting. (ps. no connection)

    Hi Kevin,
Read your book while at home from Australia this summer and enjoyed it. Managed to get in 7 rounds in 3 weeks ( Juliet,Carlow,Wolseley,Druids Glen and Killerig x3) Loved it at home. Courses here in Perth WA are not even near the same league of courses in Ireland, we truly are blessed at home!

I played it about a months ago and thought it was in good condition with the greens very good. I just bought a "just golf" voucher for two and plan to play it again in the next few weeks. The voucher included a buggy. While not the best buggies in the world they are very handy as there are long walks between some holes.

I really hope they do well. Rathsallagh was always one of my favourite courses around, must get back there soon
