    Hi
I have been offered a place in both of these courses and now need to choose one . In terms of employment which career would be easier to gain full time employment . The salary is very similar in both . I assume with teaching I would need to spend a few years temping and with occupational therapy I would spend the first few years doing contract work and unsociable shift hours . I will be living in Galway

    Hi Ruthie,

I'm starting the Msc in OT in UL in September! I have some concerns about finding a job afterwards, I'm from Galway too but living in dublin so hope it will be a bit better up here for jobs! I have never heard of OTs doing shift work though, its generally 9-5 Monday Friday.... unless you are doing out of hours private work!

I'm really interested in doing my Masters in OT in UL! I'm a past-student of UL but my undergrad isn't in a related field. Do ye know just how difficult it is to gain entry? Does volunteer work improve your chances? I have a 2.1 BA degree but I would absolutely love to get into this profession! I have lots of previous work exp working with special needs but I will definitely sort out some more before applications open if it's going to help my chances! I would really prefer to not go to the UK! Any advise ye have id really appreciate! Thank you!!
