Echostar HDS-600RS Freesat receiver, BBC HD channels disappearing

    My brother has one of these now discontinued Freesat receivers and has noticed in recent times the BBC HD channels on the 2 transponders disappear. The box has to be powered down to restore the channels but they intermittently disappear again.

    Checking the signal strength/quality in the menu for the particular channels displays 0% when this happens but 99% for both when they are present. A sat meter connected between the receiver and LNB displays a signal strength of approx. 91% at all times.

    Having done a google search on the issue it appear to be a known fault with a firmware fix available directly from echostar UK support only since Mar 2015.

    Have anyone come across this problem and was it resolved by the software fix?
