    Have to say both myself and our little one loved seeing him each time. Always sitting right up at the window. The zoo has definitely lost a great animal

    Went to the zoo last year for first time since I was a kid and was surprised how playful the gorillas were while the chimps were all sleeping.

    Heartbreak over the one in the US who was shot. They were 3rd cousins twice removed.



    In reality apparently postmortem results awaited.

    How old was he? Must be about 25 years ago I was there and one of the keepers was hand rearing a baby gorilla and introduced him to us. Amazingly cute with hands (paws?) like soft leather gloves. Wonder was he the same one.

    I see he was 29, when did he join the zoo, or was he born there, can't see it in articles.
