If its old enough the number may have been re-used, have you checked for a dial tone on the cable in place? If its there dial 199000 to confirm its current number.

Thanks for the reply Ed,i checekd the line there is no dial tone i did speak to somone from eir on their webchat he told me fibre isnt available right now but i could pre order it as it would be live on 22/6 i held off on the pre order as knowing eir i doubt the date would actually accurate.

Does the number ring when you dial it? If so it's been re-used. Usually if phoneline is disconnected you would check by address.

Even if it doesn't ring it still could be associated with a different metallic path.

I tried ringing the number it doesnt work and ive sent message to eir reps on here to try find out if the number is still connected to the house or has it been moved just waiting on a reply. Also seen a lot of imagine signs saying imagine is in the area so im going to look into that as well.

If you PM me the address I might be able to get some more detail for you than the Digiweb checker

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed that the digiweb line checker isn't working.

Or... is it something that I am doing wrong?

Try www.fibrerollout.ie line checker put in your phone number and Eircode it give you what your line can handle.

Its been gone quiet a while now.

All operators that have access to the open-eir Unified Gateway (UG) have signed non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to not release such information to third parties. The NDA appears be the reason we no longer have access to the information via Digiweb's online checker. (section 4.1, NGA IPM)

Thanks - but I did that already. My exchange is due to go FTTC & FTTH in the autumn. However my line profile went from 3Mb/s to 18Mb/s according to both openeir and eir (unfortunately my ISP[sky] has not received the updated information yet :( .

Sky have stated that if it is VDSL they will request that I sign a new contract (not something that I want to do, as I would rather wait for FTTH - not something that sky are currently offering!), but if it is an increase of ADSL bandwidth (as I expect as our exchange has been ADSL2 enabled for years but we have been throttled to 3Mb/s) then they will just increase the profile without the need of a new yearly contract.

It is this level of detail that I would've been able to source from the digiweb checker.

Cheers, I expected that it was something like this
