A lot of drama going on over the new Top Gear. Will you keep watching after having seen the first episode?

If you mean myself, I will watch the 2nd episode and hope for the best.

It even made the national news which I think is unfair. There's going to some people that love the last presenters and hate any change, personally, I thought it was getting very stale but the format was fine.

Yep, the first show was poor in places but there's potential there.

Sounds potentially a better one than last night...
Chris Evans, Matt LeBlanc and Eddie Jordan head for South Africa, where Sharleen Spiteri, Seasick Steve and Tinie Tempah take part in an SUV test. Back at the track, Chris joins Jenson Button for a ride in the McLaren 675LT, while Damian Lewis is this week's Star in a Rallycross Car.

As a fan who remained somewhat optimistic during the whole fracas, I probably won't.

The opening episode was a painful rehash, trying to squeeze Chris Evans into a Jeremy Clarkson shaped hole instead of trying any new ideas at all. Alnost patronising fans.

I'd always make time to watch Top Gear on a Sunday evening for fear someone would talk about ot before i'd see it. I've no intention of setting time aside for episode two, unless it gets rave reviews, then i'l catch it on repeat.

As of now, i'm out I reckon.

I will watch it as there are so few car shows anyway apart from fifth gear and maybe it will improve.

Really? Sounds like they're trying to shoehorn as many celebs into it as possible.

On reflection (and a rewatch) I thought last night was extremely poor save for the Nomad and Willis jeep sections which was down to LeBlanc who I wasn't initially impressed by, but I've realised this was down to his interactions with Evans.

Chris Evans is completely unsuited to the show and thinks he's doing some sort of mash between TGI and his Radio show. Awful shouty hyperactive tool IMO. The rest of the hosts may as well be non-existent as it seems they're there for offsite segments or the online BBC 3 show (whatever that's needed for)

Will probably watch the second only because I think parts of it are shot only days in advance and so the feedback they seem to be getting may give them pause for thought, but if its still generally the same crap as last night then I won't be bothering with episode 3.

Clarkson is Top Gear. The new one is muck.

I'm pretty sure none of us particularly want to watch Chris Evans jumping around and shouting in the studio again. But the pieces away from the studio were good enough. Matt looked a bit nervy at times in the first episode but I think he'll grow into it and will gain a lot of fans.

Will definitely watch the second episode if I'm not up to anything else. It sounds like it could be good.

Needs more Sabine and less of Evans jumping about and trying his best to read a script for Clarkson. Matt? I'm not sure.

I don't get this love for Sabine... she's a fantastic driver sure, but an absolutely terrible host.

Ah yes because Top Gear is only ever about one person.

Clarkson is gone, accept the change or can it. I'll be watching The Grand Tour and think it will definitely start very strong but the BBC were right to scrap Clarkson and losing the other two when they did that was going to happen.

It's about time Top Gear moved on and whining about change after just 60 minutes of it is a silly move.

People already saying Sabine is terrible, she had what, five minutes if not less than that on screen. Would rather see the three on screen more rather than the BBC trying to appease Clarkson fans with Evans.

No bullshít with Sabine. And I quite liked that Corvette too, made my inner 12 year old happy. :D

I'll give the second one a watch. Maybe they'll settle into it. For me there are just too many cooks in the mix and the biggest issue being Evans. He just doesn't suit this show at all. I reckon LeBlanc is OK and has definitely got more in him IMH, the others remain to be seen, but Evans, god no. Woeful. And TBH I was rooting for him that he'd confound the naysayers but he really hasn't.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

Oh right, no sorry, not directed at you! It's the "internet rage" I'm seeing today on social media, it's one episode in, it's a huge departure from the three lads, it can only get better! (Hopefully)

Ehhh... 4thh fastest car ever around the Top Gear track...and that's crap?

There's very few places that you'll ever get to hit top speed in a car, but the ordinary day to day performance in that car is unreal, and all for $90,000, less than 1/10th of the Huayara, the fastest car on the TG track.

Take the spoiler off and it'll go a lot faster at the top end, but I know which one I'd prefer.

BTW it's done 7:12 on the Nurburgring, which is phenomenal.
