Lads, just a quick question. After a good wash and wax is there a need to polish the car again on the next wash or will that remove the wax? In other words, is a wash with car shampoo enough without having to polish/wax again?

    All depends what types used.

If the likes of collinite 845 then you best using Ph neutral as it won't strip wax or take away from it's protection.

Stay clear of wash and wax shine etc... Shampoos

No presuming the job done good, then you should be good for 6-12 months with good care.

    A good ph neutral shampoo
    Top of wax each month/bi-monthly.
    Odd snow foam session.

No. Once a wash, polish and wax has been done, all that is needed is a regular wash and dry. Always laugh when I hear people say that they polish and wax their car weekly....simply not needed.

Thanks lads, just what I was looking for! I use autoglym bodywork shampoo which claims to be pH neutral so should be fine.

    That shampoo should be fine.
May I ask what polish / wax you used?

Mostly autoglym stuff.....super resin polish and the wax is autoglym high definition. Does a very decent job I have to say, although I have a tub of dodo juice I haven't used yet. Dying to try it out, heard its great on dark colours.

Havent used the HD wax myself but I have seen great results from it.

    Just remember
a good prep is the key to a good finish.
