So I am thinking of filing a generic tax claim, I have all sorts of stuff I may be able to claim tax back on, such as:

    Medical Expenses:
    Long term prescription, monthly expense.
    Dental work (some may qualify).

    Travel Expenses:
Leap card - travel to and from work every day.

There are other bits and pieces I may be able to add in there, but I'm just wondering how I go about this, are there all sorts of forms I have to fill out etc., or can I scan / send and copy receipts to the tax office and they do the administration as such?

The leap card one in particular I'm curious about, I'm not on the tax saver scheme with my employer, but I do have a full leap usage history / receipt from Leap.ie and it is for business use (8am and 6/7pm Monday to Friday is the only time it ever gets used), so I assume as this is a legitimate business expense I will be able to claim tax back on it, even though it isn't part of the more established programme?

Will I need to almost request each individual request separate and find forms to request for each individual aspect etc?

Oh, one more thing, I may be emmigrating either late this year or early next year, is there any sort of tax claim I can make on the basis of that?

    Thanks for your help.

you only get travel if on the appropriate scheme.

best way to do it is to file a form 12 online, its pretty much a catchall form though if its just medical a med 1 will be sufficient
