Low profile shower trays

    As a rule, do these tend to drain poorly compared to a standard tray, got one installed last year, fairly big one, it drains slowly, mate got a similar one recently, same issue, think the trap is different & that's the issue, just wondering

    It normally depends on the fall of the waste pipe that is connected to the tray/trap and I suppose the amount of bends on the waste pipe. Where possible it's best practice to use 2" waste pipe instead of 1 1/2" but this isn't always possible.

    The trap itself is the problem. Looks big from the top but the part before it connects to 1 1/2 waste on a majority of traps for those trays is just a bit over 1" also have seen the center part that forms the trap is too close to the bottom of trap leaving it too slow to empty.
