I'm tired of playing on astroturf. There are obviously a few places with hard indoor courts - Westwood, Riverview, etc. - but are there any outdoor alternatives in Dublin?

    I know of:

    Elm Park: 7x grass

    Fitzwilliam: 2x Har Tru clay

De Vesci: 4x Tiger Turf clay

Have you tried St Anne's park in rarely? I'm think not all of them are artificial.

I haven't been able to find details about the courts, but from pictures online they look like savannah. I wonder are they, besides the Herbert Park courts, the only public courts that aren't tarmac.

Through further investigation I found a lovely looking grass court club in Malaide called Grove LTC (4 courts). But, for me at least, that's too far.

There use to be 3 tar courts in Howth, free of charge. Not sure if they are still there. They are on the way into howth from the Sutton side. Just before you come to the entrance for deer park you will see a small park on your left. Go in there and go down the back and the courts are there.

For the courts in Saint annes not all maybe artificialater. There are some courts that are used by a tennis club there and they are the ones that could be artificial. There are about 18 courts there.

Thanks, but obviously I would sooner play on artificial than tarmac!

Stratford LTC in Rathmines has five grass courts!
