Well.....the blocks are definitely concrete.:D

As for the timberwork. Normally to id timber, we need to see the grain pattern.
And we clearly cant.

But larch is so striking, it would be evident anyway.

In this case, i,d say pressure treated deal.

thanks - Its something I'd like to make in the future, but I'd like to make it out of a decent bit of wood as I am probably never going to use it for plants.

Any suggestions as to what I could make it from ?

I was thinking teak maybe ?

Oak, iroko, or larch should last a long time outdoors, it's hard to tell from the picture what the timber is, it could be larch, you could source both larch and oak from a sawmill for a lot less than a timber yard

thanks - I love the look of Iroko but I presumed it was waaaaayyy to expensive to consider.

Oak would be more expensive than iroko in a timber yard , what part of the country are you in.
