    Hello.

My phone line is only at one location in the house - downstairs. At this point the phone line is plugged in to my modem. But my office is upstairs. I can't use wifi due to my setup.

Anyone know if these type things are any good:

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000NJQHL4/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_api_dr3rxbJW2WR7K

    My plan would be

Plug phone line downstairs in to the phone extender plug A.
Then upstairs plug in extender B.
    Bring modem upstairs
Plug phone cable from extender B to the modem dsl port.
Plug RJ45 Ethernet cables from modem to my computer etc.

    Would this work ?

I know there is powerline Ethernet adapters........but I'm specifically asking about the phone line extender.

Running wires is not an option either.

This can't carry a DSL signal, only voice.

You could use power line adapters that broadcast wifi. I have tp link set and have zero problems with them. Think it's tp-link wpa4220KIT.

My friend has that exact unit and he says when connected to the TP link wifi , the speed etc is crap, do he just resorts to using 4G.

Could be interference in the wiring or maybe they are plugged into an extension lead? I have a ps4 and sky box connected by Ethernet. They work fine for me but wouldn't work in my fathers house.

No. He purposely avoided extension leads. His connection via Ethernet is fine with the plugs, but the wireless is crap via the plugs. He tried changing channels to one less uses etc. but still no good.

If you are with eircom they sell these https://www.amazon.co.uk/TP-LINK-Powerline-Extender-Configuration-Smartphone/dp/B00ECBRGW8 for €30 which isn't bad. They're pretty good but if you use any intranet devices such as a printer or file storage on your network its best to use the ethernet ports which work very well. I find them good. I got two sets off them. I live in a 200 year old house with really old wiring and the devices are about 50 metres apart! Probably more through cables.
