Setting up a non-profit

    Hello everyone,

I am looking to setup a non-profit advocacy group. We are not a charity and we would simply be trying to lobby for the issue we are concerned with.

I would like to make it official and when I go to check out how to start a non-profit it is not clear whether one can just go ahead or whether one needs to be registered. However, the only way seems to be via revenue. I'm just curious if anyone has any tips on what to do here.

    What's your scale?

Possibly a company limited by guarantee is your best bet. You need 7 members to form the company and it exists in its own right.

    Check out https://www.lobbying.ie
You may need to register with them.
