Service history / Warranty question

    Hi all,

Feel completely stupid admitting this so go easy on me.

I recently bought a car with 40K mileage from a main dealer (as in, the car is the same brand as the main dealer sells) advertised with remaining warranty coverage on it.

It's in great nick and the Cartell check was fine (also didn't indicate mileage discrepancy). I also had somebody look over it as well.

I was given the service logbook after the sale and stupidly didn't check it, assuming it'd be fine from a main dealer. I've now noticed that the first (and only) service entry is basically the (full) service it received when I bought it. Going by the manufacturer guidelines, it should have been serviced twice before I bought it.

Before I take it up with the dealer, do you think this will affect the warranty seeing as I intend to get the car fully serviced by the dealer on schedule for as long as I have it plus they advertised it as having x amount of warranty remaining when I bought it?

Thanks in advance and go easy on me :)

It may be the case of the book not being stamped, or not being in the car at the time of the service. Ask nicely first if they can produce a copy of the work done at the first service or track it down.
