Ideas for blinds/curtains

Just bought a place in Sion Hill and am at a loss as to what to do with the living room window. It's a window that has a large front panel, then a little bay (probably about a foot) on one side only, bit of a L shape.

Head says it's probably made for blinds (like the showhouse below), but heart says the living room should have curtains. If I was to go curtain, a full length would have to be probably inside the bay (so losing floorspace), or else a shorter one to match the curve of the L. Is a foot too narrow to do a curve in the curtain?

Here's the showhouse, doesn't show the window, but it's on the other side of the "bay" in the pic. The plans are attached also.

Any ideas suggestions would be welcome.

We had something similar. We put Roman Blinds on the windows and then curtains outside the bay just to dress it. The curtains are never closed
