Yes, it has (for summer anyway)

Ryanair from Dublin or Shannon or Jet2 from Belfast are the remaining options

    Thank you.

Why would this route be discontinued in Summertime

They can more more elsewhere, it's the weakest of the other Canary Islands routes and in summer doesn't attract as many as winter.

I'm surprised they are doing this considering they are not doing the charters they did in previous years! There is surly a place in sun holiday market for the canaries as a result of the fall off of demand for Tunisa and turkey

Fuerteventura seems to be the weakest of the Canary Islands for summer demand from Ireland,Lanzarote is still extremely popular with 2 EI flights on a Saturday along with TFS and LPA. Fuerteventura is seen as a quieter island and is more popular with the Germans all year round.

I was wondering if it was because of undesirables on the flights.

I think that was one of the reasons the Ibiza route stopped.

ASL starting a charter which could be part of the reason Aer Lingus dropped it after losing Sunway or because of EI's decision to drop it for summer.

Ibiza and Fuerteventura are miles apart.

Fuerteventura is a quite island ideal for people who wish for a quiet holiday with a quiet few drinks.

Ibiza, well, it's in songs isn't it?

FUE was also dropped by FR at ORK this year, but is continuing from SNN this winter, although that's possibly just to further utilise the Ryanair fleet.

A commercial company will not stop a route over "undesirables" they may however halt a route if said pax profile cause's incidents which have a negative effect on punctuality or operational reliability. However while there were some issues and particular procedures in place with the flights to Ibiza I dont think there were too many diversions/cancellations due to "undesirables".

The airline makes their route decisions based on historical pax demand, planned aircraft availability, planned new routes/schedules and projected pax demand across the network.

As above, if FUE is returning in the winter then the airline has decided that is a more appropriate winter sun destination, and prefer to focus on the more profitable summer sun routes to TFS,LPS,ACE.

Maybe this is the wrong place to ask but out of interest are EI doing any charters this year?

Besides the odd BHD-Verona and a return DUB-BOS, nothing planned or at least wasn't a while back.
