Toyota Auto

I have a Toyota automatic and noticed recently that when it is in drive (D) and I am stopped at lights with my foot on the break that it is a little, for want of a better word, shakey or vibrating. It is not very bad but noticable and annoying. The Revs seem to go up and then down slightly during this like its searching for a sweet spot. Down to almost cut out and then over compensates.

Its not bad or very noticeable, the OH says she barely noties it but its really annoying me.

2016, 5800km on the clock. It is is a way off its 10km service and don't know whether to bring it in early or wait another 4 months till I get to 10km?

It's a new car and still under warranty. Bring it back to Toyita and get them to sort it. The revs should hold steady, you could have a vacuum leak or sensor problem.

Is it a hybrid or just regular car?

Cheers, just a regular car. I will drop in and see what they say.

Its the type of place that ask me if there are any issues so I was wondering if I could narrow the parameters down for them

Very easy to demonstrate the symptoms to them.

Have you tried shifting to N or P when stopped too see if the engine hunts then or only when D is engaged, this could help determine if the fault lies with the motor or transmission.

This sounds like a torque converter issue, and needs to be looked at by dealer under warranty.

Google: torque convertor vibration at idle.
