Flight booking advice

Just wondering if anyone has some tips related to timing and booking flights.. I'm looking to go on a trip to the U.S for two weeks at the end of August to visit friends. I'm finishing out my current job at the moment and have about half of the money saved for flights. I won't be paid again until the start of June and will begin my new full-time job for the summer then. Just wondering, would I be better to get a lend of money for the rest of the flights and book now, or will the price still be similar in three weeks time when I'm paid? Thanks!

Where in the US are you going & what is your budget for flights, what current prices are you looking at?

Hi, I'm flying into Boston and out of JFK. Flights are coming up around 700-800 at the moment on Skyscanner! Just praying they won't go up too much in the next few weeks?

If you're flexible with dates, you could do it for €620 with Aer Lingus.

There's a possibility fares could drop or remain the same, but in general as you get closer to the date, they only go up. If you have the opportunity and know 100% you can repay the person at the end of the month, I'd book them now.

The €620 fare I saw is for the following times/dates with Aer Lingus if you're interested. When you start selecting items, make sure to select "multicity" (beside Return and One Way at the top).

    DUB(11:50) - BOS(13:45) Monday, August 15
    JFK(12:00) - DUB(23:45) Monday, August 28

I booked a flight to US a while back. Was checking prices for a few days, then one day it popped up cheaper. It was for DUB- Chicago, Boston-Dublin out September 26 back October 16. I think Monday was the day I found the cheapest flight=€518

    🧐IMHO, God wants us all to ENJOY many,many ice-creams , 🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦

€700-800 is fairly steep for East coast of the states. I booked last July 4th for 10 days in September and got them for €370. I know they were much cheaper than normal but the average price would be around €550. There might be an offer again this July 4th if you are willing to gamble. It was through AerLingus directly.

Not all of the airline websites do this but some of them will bump up the price on repeat visits in an effort to pressure you in to buying. Make sure to clear your cache (ctrl+F5) or better yet use a private (incognito) tab to avoid this happening.

I was going to suggest that last night, but she's within the 120 days (or very close) so it doesn't help in this situation, but good information for other people.

You know I've often wondered about this as quite often now when I search specific dates for flights, the dates I choose always seem to be considerably more expensive then when I then search for random dates around it to compare.
Always found it to be an unlucky coincidence..

You can set up price alerts on skyscanner I think. Also avoids the cookie issue with checking the airlines sites.
