Find out what rate the cal/mag is in the nuts and go from there.

Grass protein can be anywhere from 18 to 26% or above depending on fertiliser etc so no need for a high protein nut. 14% is plenty. High energy is what's needed

No need for 18% p .depending on what cows are yielding 14/15%!p is loads .if cows milking 20/25 10/12% p loads .sumole mix with maize /barley/hulls /soya and cal mag to cover whatever feed rate ur on will do

Do think 14 is necessary? Am I missing litres? Urea gone over 25 in the past week. Never below 20 so far. Pr 3.55.

Once a day in feeding passage. Depends on when they are going into fresh break.

Id say your right at the line between maximum efficiency of pr use and losing out on litres/pr%. At your current yields you'll need about 2050g digestible protein and you are probably in the range of 1950-2150g depending on what your grass would test at.

    +1.

8kgdm good forage maize + 2kgdm maize crimp + minerals.
    31.8 litres/day @ 3.33pr and 4.3 bf

Milk urea between 28.2 and 32.

When grass is good quality feeding pr above 9 is only making money for merchants imho.
Feeding too much of the wrong pr will depress bf.
I never, ever add pr to buffer when cows at grass full time.

Cows still climbing here. Is 3kg enough? Grass as good as it can be. Skipping anything not looking 100% so covers close to spot on. I think they're capable of 7500l+ but I don't want to buy it from them iykwim. They delivered 6500l/500kg ms in 2015 with one foot resting on the brake for the first quarter. 40% heifers this year again.

    Trust yourself.
    Merchants/salesmen/nutritionists have vested interests.

Could you throw in a bit of soymeal for a few days, if you dont see any worthwhile lift cut it out again
