Where to BUY scrap metal?

I know there are plenty of places who buy scrap metals (by weight)
Do any of these sell different type of metals to private buyers?

I need some decent amount (tens of kilo) for craft work, and OK to pay little more than the scrap yard prices, but not as much as shops charge per plain metal bars.

you could try those recycling centres as they have containers for metal and maybe be more open to some being taken

That's probably too far, I'm afraid. Unless I will be visiting Dublin some day, I will let you know)

Might be worth asking a local plumber if he has a scrap tank

Scrap yards sell as well as buy. Obviously they will want to make a profit but they all do sell.

    update:
Most of scrap yards DON'T sell scrap metal since recently
The recent scpar yard regulations are very strict.
Thanks to scumbags who steal copper cables (((
