Hotpoint Washer Dryer won't spin - clicking noise

    Hi,

I have a Hotpoint Washer/Dryer that wont spin. I can hear what I think is a relay clicking noise which repeats every few seconds when I believe that it should be spinning.

Set the temperature to "Off", so I think that rules out the heater element being the issue.

It also won't spin in "Dryer" mode, so that should rule out a water fill level switch, and would point to a motor issue.

Tried the usual turning it off and back on, unplugging it and waiting.

    Anyone experience this before?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

The motor via a belt is what causes the drum to rotate, check the brushes in the motor they are more than likely worn if you hear the pcb relays clicking

Try the pump. It could be blocked. This can cause what sounds like a clicking noise. It won't let the drum spin.

By any chance are you washing a single heavy item? I recently put in a really heavy hoodie in on it's own and thought the machine was broke as it wouldn't spin. It was under warranty and repair guy said it was an uneven load. It spins fine with more clothes in it.
