    Hi guys,

I have a flight booked to Cancun in 2 months time.

the girlfriend is pregnant and cannot fly as medically certified by our GP. The flight is booked via travel republic and the operator is british airways.

They have refused to offer a full refund or offer credit, they have offered to refund the airport tax of €98 per person versus €1470 I paid in full for the flight.

Is there anything further I can due under the circumstances? Could I claim from travel insurance?

    Thanks for your help

Check your travel insurance T&Cs - we cannot check them for you!

Don't really see why you'd be entitled to a refund here, Not the Airlines problem.

When did you find out she was pregnant, when did you book the flight?

if all else fails...... maybe you could get yourself a new girlfriend and go for a name change on the ticket :D

Or else, maybe you could sell them?

Obviously depends on the circumstances, but maybe a name change might only cost a nominal fee? Maybe some of your friends or family will take them from you?

Was she able to fly before she got pregnant?

Check the T&C's in your travel insurance. My policy only covers cancellation due to a defined list of very specific pregnancy related issues (i.e. not pregnancy in general). It will depend on the exact reason she cannot fly and the details of your policy.
