It seems to have gotten as far as having kids pose for multi pics

    What are "multi pics?"

My parents had me and my brother pose for professional pictures when I was young 'in. They sent the pictures out to friends and family. There's albums full of pics of my entire family at home. Very little of my sister though, because my parents were sick of looking at us by the time she was born.

It's a new parent thing. It's been happening since the camera was invented. Just people are putting them on social media now, instead of posting them to Australia and the UK.

I don't think it's anything new. Like I said, my parents literally have boxes full of old pics of us at home, and a few nice ones in frames about the house. Whenever we went to the park, or on holidays my aul fella had a camera with him. I doubt they'll ever be looked at again. I did ask him to go through them and get all the pictures of our childhood pet dog out, so I've scanned them and have them somewhere on my computer.

Maybe that should be the lesson. Your pets will be gone before anyone else, you're kids will be stinking up your life for decades. More pet pics, less kid pics.

Statistically some of them are going to be horrible people. Think of it as a public service :D

Loads of that stuff on the farcebook feed. Stay at home mammys with nothing else to do. ;)

"My little princess, Mammy loves ya to the moon and back" accompanied by pictures of food covered sticky spawn.

I used to feel this until my nephew and niece came along. Now I love seeing photos of them.

I don't really care. It's natural for parents to be proud of their children. and presumably the vast majority of them don't have completely public profiles so they're just sharing photos of their family with friends and other family members, which is exactly what people have been doing since cameras became widely available.

Sure, the occasional person might overdo it, but the great advantage Facebook has over real human interaction is that you can block people from appearing on your newsfeed.

Oooooohhh... I didn't realise you were allowed put your kids pic as your profile pic. That makes more sense alright - I thought I had gotten into a politic argument with a very erudite three year old the other day.

I was furious because he get topping my points with some excellent references from history.

My final reply "Yeah but at least I can wipe my own ass you snot-nosed punk!" probably came off as mental now that I think about it.

This is a serious issue OP. Perhaps the government could ban it?
