    hi folks
I am applying for Irish citizenship. I live here since 2006, am EU citizen, have all documents. My question is which of them have to be certified by a solicitor as this is not clear for me. I am sure the first colour page of my current passport has to be certified but what about the rest of pages, my understanding is I submit only copies. Same for my birth certificate- I have a certified translation into English from my country so why I would ask a solicitor to certified this? One person also told me that my bills and bank statements have to be certified. Is it true?

If you're applying on the basis of five years' residency, only your current passport photo page needs a certified copy.

When I was getting my wife's application together, it seemed "unclear", and the Solicitor was willing to certify anything and everything, so we got most of the stuff certified "just in case"...

thanks for reply. I will keep you informed about outcome:). Today I am sending my application, I certified only first page of my passport and Statutory declaration page (last page of application), I will see if it's enough

Not necessarily, they could show that you're spending a lot of time in a third country which might call your Irish "residence" into question. But they don't ask for these pages to be certified anyway regardless of your citizenship.
