Anyone has any ideas/comments/reviews about Donegan Court?

I'm starting my masters at NUIG this September and I am on their waiting list. Any chance anyone here knows the chances if actually getting a tenancy as someone who is on their waiting list?

I've emailed them to ask but I wanted unbiased opinions/experiences if possible.

Also..Cuirt Na Coiribe..is it as bad as some of the reviews I've read so far?

Helpful responses would be very much appreciated!! =)

Cuirt is top quality, been there a few times and it's very nice! As a master's student you'll like it a lot! Donegan court is also very high end, situated on the canal basically equidistance from the Roisin Dubh and College. Personally, if I were a master's student, I'd go for Donegan Courts simply for the fact it's very ideally located and beside the canal!! That being said, I'd be very happy with Cuirt as it's the best of both worlds!

    Thank you for responding, jacknuig!

Thing is, I'm on the waiting list for Donegan Court and I have no idea if I'd actually get a place there.
I've got single ensuite on hold for me at Cuirt until Friday but I'm hesitating because of the reviews; management being a pain and thin walls, etc.

Would you by any chance have anyone who's currently staying there and might share their experiences living there?

    Hi,
I lived in Cuirt last year (15/16) as a second year student.
To be honest it wasnt ideal for me as its not very exciting and I was looking to make new friends. But as a masters student it should be ideal. Its in a great location for sure - close to the shopping centre and dunnes and only a 10 minute walk from college. The apartments are lovely and really warm. It is true the walls are very thin if youre a light sleeper your housemates opening and closing doors will really bother you because they can be very loud but if you're a heavy sleeper you'll be fine!
I had a double room and the desk was smaller then the single room ones and I had less storage space.
Its comfortable to study in but again doors opening and closing may bother you. It also depends on who lives above and below you and if they're noisy. We were fine last year but it all depends. Also if you live close to the restaurant Scottys the music is supposed to be loud during the day.

Management are fine - the people in the office are fair. Security guards are strict - a couple of people in your sitting room talking is enough to bring them to the door especially if its after 12...

If you have any other questions let me know!
