RCD Socket on landing

Looking for a bit of advice on the best practice to get power to a shower pump in a hot press, where there is no existing feed available.

Next to the hot press is a landing area.

I was thinking to add a socket on the landing side of the hotpress with 30ma RCD. Then route the cable through the wall to the pump inside the hotpress. Hotpress is also inside a bathroom.

Would this be an acceptable way to wire the pump?

why not just forget about the socket and just feed the pump on its own?

Why not take a spur from the immersion?

You could have a problem with the hot press opening into the bathroom, in which case bathroom regulations apply.

So the pump wouldn't be allowed unless it is fully enclosed behind some sort of panel only openable with a tool. You might have to build a little box to put it in.

As far as wiring it goes you are allowed to loop a shower pump off the immersion heater circuit which should already have RCD protection, if it doesn't then you will have to get a RECI registered contractor to fit one into the consumer unit.

The pump should have an isolator outside of the bathroom.

Would a power shower unit be an option?

    Thanks for all.

The pump has moulded plug which ideally i would prefer not to cut.

Also there is no immersion in place so no circuit to come off.

For this reason i was thinking on coming off existing socket to feed either

    1. 5amp 30ma Rcd fused spur to unit on wall outside the bathroom, cut the plug on pump and feed cable through wall. Spur to come off closet socket on the ring.

    2. Add Rcd socket on wall outside bathroom an neatly feed cable through wall into hotpress.

    Are the above permitted?

Only other option would be a new rcd circuit back to CU.

The moulded plug will be the least of your issues.

The Wiring Rules stipulate that all bathroom circuits are protected by a dedicated RCD so looping off a socket circuit would not comply.

You are going to need a registered contractor to install a new circuit from the CU with its own RCD, that's the law.

Also very importantly address the earth bonding situation in the hot press.
