Friend wants one installed, as his gate is on a bad bend, so if it's open when he arrives, there's less risk of being rear ended.

Anyone any experience with the best network for the sim provider, most of the time, the device doesn't transmit, it can be made to send a text message, but there's no voice as such, and I have a vague memory of seeing a message somewhere that if a sim is not used for voice every so often, it can get removed from the active service list, even though the user is paying to keep it alive, which in this situation would not be helpful.

    Thanks in anticipation

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁

I have a tesco sim in my alarm panel for years now.

As far as I remember it needs to be topped up by €5 minimum every 6 months
