Seat Leon egr valve

    Herself has a 3 yr old Leon just outta warranty with2/3 months, the light for it came on over weekend and it's going in limp mode, is it true that some dealers cover after in certain cases.?
    Help much appreciated

    Could be dpf(Diesel Particulate Filter).. Get the light reset at your local indi garage, then get yourself a good DPF cleaner, drive it through your car on a half tank or less, and when you can,, drive the car hard in top gears.... If the problem persists then you may have an issue!?


    Oh btw have you already scanned and been told it's the EGR??

    There is no EGR light. Did you scan? What code came back?

    3 year old VAG diesel engine? Sounds about right for an EGR failure.

    Might be a leak from the Water pump though - very similar symptoms to both failures.

    No idea on SEAT, but if the mileage is reasonable then VW are pretty good for goodwill on them. Generally don't cover all cost, but a fair chunk of it.

    Was defo the egr
    Seat are covering cost of part and half of refit in garage, so rather than costing €900 they doing for €200
