I'm currently insured in a 1.4 golf and paying 160 per month.

I'm 25 with full licence, no no claims.

Want to change to a diesel , either a gttdi golf or a 320d sport.

Do ye reckon my monthly payments will go up much on either of those cars ?

they will almost certainly go up. but the only way to know is run your insurer with reg numbers and see.

With no no claims I'd be surprised if you get many insurers even quoting you on 2 litre diesels.

Maybe not But I'm not new on the road I've had a no claims before but it expired. Aren't the gttdi's 1.9 ?

Insurance companies don't care that you had one before, in their eyes you are a new road user.

Just got off the phone there with them. It's 680 fof the gttdi for the remaining 9 months which isn't too bad seeing as I paid 2050 for the insurance in the 1.4
