    Hello,
I have moto g ( 1st gen ), thinking about getting a new phone. I would prefer minimal amount of bloat ware + nfc + finger print reader + sim free ( i don't have a contract nor want one )

Any advice ? I'm flexible on budget if the phone will hold its value.

Is it a bad idea to buy a galaxy s6 today, given that the phone is already a year behind - in my experience these things seem drastically slow down after 18 months of use.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. Have the 1st gen moto g and want to upgrade. It's a bit pricey for my liking but after a lot of research I've decided to go with the HTC 10. It has everything you mentioned and also great audio quality.

Really don't want to use Samsungs touchwiz ui and whilst I think their phones look good I don't like how they feel in hand.

Ya looks nice but at £569 (amazon) that is way out of my price range, I think €450 would be my upper limit, in fact seeing a galaxy s6 edge for €450 in town is the reason I posted.

From what I've the s6 has poor battery life which rules it out for me. Have you considered the Nexus 5x/6p? Or LG g4?

Ya, was looking into the G4, my only worry is im buying old tech - I know I cannot have everything new for my price range, but I also dont want to be stuck with some device with my software updates. Think I'll wait for the Moto G4.

I'm thinking about a getting a used Galaxy S6 - I like the phone and the used price is what I can afford - there is a 1 year warranty. Am I being stupid ? Will the battery just be rubbish since its a year old ? physically the phone is fine.

Nexus 5X is around your price range
Zero bloatware - pure Android. Will be bang up to date with software for a while yet. seems like a great phone and ticks all your boxes

There is also rumour of a Moto G 4th gen to be released around mid June

    I've had an s6. The battery isn't bad. I've had worse....like the HTC a9.
