Car insurance - petition

Hi everybody,

Since clements insurance company close business in Ireland for me and lot of people got unreachable to insure car. Insurance companies doing quotes ridiculously high, sometimes even 4x higher than value of the car.

Me and my friends start already making petition to point on this problem as get quote for car in value 1500 eur 5000 up its just robbery. Its not about that quote is high, its about tht lot of people cant even reach.

Another thing is insurance companies refusing insure car older 15 years which is another thing, Those cars are mostly cheap, parts are everywhere and its most ecological to use good old car than let it scraped.

Please do not take this as I am crying here over the money or whatever. If you have any comment you wanna add do not hesitate, if you think petition is wrong way how to point on this problem comment as well.

I can just agree to your statement. I have also a car year 2000 which is not possible to insure here in Ireland under 4000 or 5000 Euro for a car worth 600 Euro.... Furthermore in Ireland its very hard or impossible to get an insurance or even a quote if you are living less than 3 years in this country. The insurance companies are not counting 7 years driving experience in your home country, they are counting is as 0 experience in Ireland and therefore refusing to give you insurance. How can you earn driving experience if nobody is insuring you?

And you could think because Ireland belongs to the EU they would accept the full EU Licence for insurance matters but even here the irish driving licence still has advantages and it doesnt matter to them if you are from EU or not. If you are not Irish, not resident here for at least 3 years and not having a new car, you hardly get the chance to insure yourself.....

I think a petition is needed here to try to change something.
