    hi,

i have been offered a second job on a casual basis. I might get 5 calls one week and maybe none the next. I have been told they will be paying me directly and i will be responsible for tax etc.

Can or should I be self employed on the second job? Can I claim expenses such as petrol, uniform etc??

Can I pay any tax liabilities as I get paid?

    Thanks

    Hi Tinner,

The whole area of self-employed v employee is an area Revenue direct a lot of efforts into.

You mention it is a job and then query if you can be self-employed.

In order to answer the question correctly, we would need to know what is contained within the agreement.
