    Hi All

The Insight as caught my eye .

They seem good value for the money they are making.

Just a few questions if anyone is familiar with them :

They all seem to be Jap imports , were they ever for sale new in Ireland

If I buy a Jap import am I asking for trouble if the battery goes wrong.

Would Honda here be able to diagnose faults on Jap cars

Are there any known issues with the car to look out for

    Thanks
    Barr

Yes, they were sold new here. They're not as sophisticated as a Prius or as refined as a civic hybrid.

What do you mean by that?

I though it was exactly the same drive (engine and gearbox)?

it is the same drivetrain but the insight is noisier and the interior isn't built to the same standard in my opinion.
I really wanted one 4 years ago till I drove one. I've also gone off the looks since. the front is cool but the rest is a bit wonky.

    Heh.
I wanted one 3 years ago, until I sit inside.
Ended with the civic diesel as you know. I don't regret.

Depends on what you want. Driving pleasure, long distance cruiser? Go elsewhere.

Something to get you from A to B within minimal fuss & cheap to run? Very few can beat it for the money. Distinctive looks & Honda badge are the icing on the cake.

Have to agree with you,my mechanic services both Prius and insight and both are work horses,he reckons Honda beats it ,doesent matter, each to his own,,previous car Skoda fabia sport, was another reliable car,no issues, think as long as ppl service /check regular most motors are grand

Is your Insight a Jap Import , if so any difficulties with Insurance , sourcing parts etc.

The only issue I have with the Prius is they are very expensive compared to an Insight. Especially if you are are after the 1.8 version of the Prius
