Peugeot 206 central locking broken

    Hi,
I had a knock on the drivers side rear bumper - little of the the panel where the boot is(driver side)
anyway, my central locking doesnt work did the reset, and it resets ok and the fob works then the locking stops working.
I have to lock the doors manually (but even this way it only locks each door individually, the complete central locking is not working).

Would this be related to the crash, as it happened then. The insurance company are saying that they will not pay for that to be repaired and they dont think its related to the accident and im fuming. IT was working before the accident, so something has been knocked out of align.

Can anyone help with advice what to do now.... also is it a costly thing to repair if they make me pay myself.

It's hard to gauge how hard the impact actually was when you describe it both as a "knock" and "crash" but I'll assume it was a fender bender.

So after a reset the central locking does work for a little while and then stops working?

Yes. it resets for all of like 20 seconds if even.
I didn't receive a knock. I received a good whallop and pushed me off the road nearly, but the damage to the car is not majot (800 repairs to get new quarter panael and spray).

If the central locking works, even for a few seconds, then it's not the locks or the fuse.
Sounds like the module itself (this sits in the driver's door), you need a specialist to look at that.

I still haven't been able to fix this. Or get fixed.

    Will it fail the nct

My mirror is strapped on. Would nct fail on that too.

If doors can be opened from inside and outside it should pass the nct.
Don't know about mirror as "strapped on" isn't very clear to me.

Either way, put it through and see if it fails on something else.
Both above issues are only visuals anyway so free retest if you fail.

    Ah great.
Mirror works bit smashed just broken and can't support itself so I have clear tape Holding it in position. Purely cosmetic.

Tyres can fail on several things.
However, they cannot fail on age (just an advisory item)
