I've been tasked with creating a booklet for new starters for the IT company I'm with.

I'm just trying to get idea into what to include and I am just wondering is there anything in particular you would have liked to know when you first started for a company.

new hire booklets should, cover the basics and some nice stuff too:

Welcome note from CEO/MD person in charge
    Org chart
    History of the Org
Induction programme/schedule (this is what you can expect, ie: be meet by HR (do contract, personal details etc), they will introduce to you mentor who will introduce you to everyone show you around etc, what training you need to have, HAACP, Manual Handling, technical training etc before starting the role)
key contact details- Hr ,Payroll, Tip line, anything your org has that they need.
Maps (if its a big org)
IT set up details (how to get usernames passwords etc)
    payroll schedule
holiday requests- if theres an embargo on anytime of year
some incorporate a handbook with rules and regualtions etc

    hope this helps.

Where the toilets are! not being smart here - i remember bursting to pee on many a first day and being too embarrassed to ask where the bathrooms were!

Maybe where the canteen is /what you can get there. If there are bike racks etc.
