I drove my 2011 Clio 3 into work today, came back to it at lunchtime and the battery was completely flat, got it jump started and the fog lights came on but they wont go off, tried the switch on the steering wheel but nothing doing, the lower fog lamps in the bumper go on and off but the upper ones don't even with the ignition off and car locked. Had to disconnect the battery when I got home to stop the drain.

What could cause this, i didn't even turn on the fog lights going into work just the regular dipped beam.

Do you mean the DRLs in the grille?

Is it the normal headlights that wont go off?

Bit confused by your post,on your car the fog lamps are low down on the bumper surrounded by a grilll is it these or the normal dipped full beam headlights that are on and wont turn off?

Howmany fogs are fitted as per post you say top ones. Have you set lights to parking mode?

No this is a bulb in the main light cluster below the indicator bulb, i think its the fog light because i can see changes when selecting high beam and dipped beam on the steering wheel

sometimes theres a twist on lights stick ( not a push ) but only works when headlights are on

They really need to be making lights part of the theory and driving tests for everyone.

Is it on auto lights unit may have failed if it does.
    Just manually try switching on/off

Just unplug the connectors to both fog light bulbs for the moment and get it sorted later. You will only need fog lights for like 1% of your driving career anyway, if not less.

The problem is that the light controls are turned off, the side lights turn off but the dipped beams are staying on even with the engine off and key taken out. And its not an automatic lights my car doesn't have that feature equipped

Side lights? Sure they're pointless as well, just use the dipped beam and unplug that shyte of a bulb :D
