My test is due on 26/07, if I get it done early, in the next couple of weeks, when will it be due next year (car is 12 years old)? Will it be on or before the date I do the test this year (say in May), or will it be on or before the 26/07 (current due date)?

    Cheers!

The latter. Generally if you do after 3 months before the due date, it will be extended as it was done on the due date.
