Recently bought a 09 2.0 tdi VW Passat B6. Very happy with the car but have one minor but very annoying issue. When driving over anything less than a smooth road there is a small rattle from the dash. I've noticed that if I press on the speedo glass it goes away leading me to thing that's loose. How would I go about fixing that in position and stop it rattling? Also the plastic cover above the interior rear view mirror is also loose - any tips on how to fix that down too?

A small bit of foam into where the perspex meets the binnacle should sort out the rattle by the speedo. Stuff foam in somewhere by the mirror too.

People use all kinds of stuff; pennies, matchsticks, foam etc
Depending on width I have used draft stopper strips and folded up electrical tape.

Problem with interior rattles is, you could be certain it's coming from one location when the actual source is somewhere else entirely. I have a random one in mine that sounds like it's coming from the sun visor or maybe the door frame but it goes away if I open the cubby in front of the gearstick. Whatever works :pac:
